This site has been created to give hope and inspiration to our friends living with thalassaemia, sickle cell anaemia, blackfan diamond and other blood disorders, and to increase awareness and understanding of haemoglobinopathies. With 5% of Australians being carriers of thalassaemia, it has become one of the most common blood disorders and, as yet, there is no cure.

The Thalassaemia Society of NSW Inc., a registered charity since 1979, supports the thalassaemia services at Sydney Children's & Prince of Wales Hospitals Randwick, the Children's Hospital at Westmead, Royal Prince Alfred, Westmead & Liverpool Hospitals.
